Cuz I Love You é o álbum de estreia de Lizzo

Lizzo lançou, na passada sexta-feira, dia 19 de Abril, o seu há muito aguardado álbum de estreia, através da Nice Life/Atlantic Records. CUZ I LOVE YOU já se encontra disponível para streaming e download AQUI.

CUZ I LOVE YOU conta com uma série de novas músicas aclamadas pela crítica e pelos fãs, onde se incluem temas como "Cuz I Love You", "Tempo (Feat. Missy Elliott)" e o primeiro single do LP, "Juice", todos eles já disponíveis nas diversas plataformas digitais e serviços de streaming. O novo álbum já recebeu alguns dos elogios mais extáticos do ano, com a Entertainment Weekly a afirmar que: "CUZ I LOVE YOU is poised to turn Lizzo into a household name... Recorded throughout 2018, the album comes on the heels of three years of painstaking personal and professional work — a fantastic and fierce collection of songs that showcase every nuance of Lizzo's infectious personality and singular vision... Lizzo celebrará o lançamento de CUZ I LOVE YOU com a já esgotada perna norte-americana da "CUZ I LOVE YOU TOUR", que arrancou ontem, dia 22 de Abril, no The Warfield, em São Francisco, na Califórnia. Todas as datas desta primeira digressão pelos EUA estão esgotadas, incluindo a data de encerramento da tournée que terá lugar no Terminal 5, em Nova Iorque, no dia 23 de Maio. A abertura dos espectáculos ao longo de toda a digressão será assegurada pela também artista da Atlantic Records, Tayla Parx.

Lizzo começou o seu incrível ano de 2019 com o lançamento do grande êxito "Juice". A faixa rapidamente provou estar entre as mais aclamadas músicas de Lizzo até à data, com a Entertainment Weekly a definir o single como "the latest (and poppiest yet) from the infectiously poised 30-year-old artist, whose ascent in the hip-hop scene has been as rousing to watch as her live performances...Let 'Juice' be your introduction to an uplifting up-and-comer", acrescentando ainda: "From the first moments, it's clear this will be a favorite and become the 'juice' that gets you through the year. Rolling out the track with an electric guitar reminiscent of Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream,' Lizzo continues to release next-level bangers."

"Great news everybody", exclamou a GQ britânica, continuando: "We're just four days into January and we've got the best song of the year, and it just won't get topped."

A Rolling Stone concordou, afirmando: "Four days into the new year, Lizzo released the first great song of 2019. The Minneapolis singer-rapper-flautist specializes in propulsive self-empowerment anthems — feel-good songs about feeling good about yourself — and 'Juice' may be her finest yet, a near-perfect retro-funk nugget that would have felt just right on a mirror-balled dance floor in 1982... If life were fair, ('Juice') would be as big as 'Uptown Funk.'"

O novo trabalho CUZ I LOVE YOU chegou apenas há alguns dias, mas a crítica não tem poupado nos elogios, com a publicação Variety a referir que: "Her debut's sexy, smart, scuffed-up R&B establishes Lizzo as an immediate star." Já a Esquire afirmou "'You' reveals another bullet point on her already spectacular resume: Lizzo can sing. Boy, can she sing. Her rich, raw vocal is on display all across the LP, but it's especially striking on affecting ballads like the blow-your-hair-back title track, produced by X Ambassadors, or the throbbing "Jerome," which sees her pleading with a suitor who leaves her wanting to come back "when you're grown." ("Poor little baby," she chides. "Who told you that you stood a chance with this royalty?")".
